Nice One Elland



In Elland it was difficult to identify and collaborate with existing community groups and therefore a social norms intervention was developed by having phone calls with a number of businesses and services listed in the phone directory as well as doing a location walk-around to identify any venues to help display intervention materials.

It was apparent that resourcing a social norms intervention using community members was going to be difficult, however there was still a need to reach as many people as possible.

The outcome was a direct mail flyer drop campaign resulting in flyers being delivered to every household in the area as well as posters being circulated to local libraries, cinema, shops and centres. Whilst this was still cost-effective, it meant measuring impact in realtime was difficult to do.
